Full follow-up inspections
Follow-up inspections are unannounced and proportionate to risk. In full follow up inspections inspectors assess progress made and undertake in-depth analysis of areas of serious concern identified in the previous full inspection, particularly on safety and respect.
Inspectors use the findings of prisoner surveys (where available), focus groups, research analysis of prison data and observation. This enables a reassessment of the previous healthy prison assessments.
